How to Draw A Fancy Letter M. The number 13 is often called an unlucky number, but there's nothing unlucky about today's help topic! Also, check our Baby Panda Coloring Pages. We will be covering the letter M in this guide, and it's a letter we should all be very familiar with. It is a reasonably joint letter in English with a simple but unique look. The letter has a similar shape with its uppercase and lowercase, while the uppercase version has straighter lines. This guide will walk you through drawing a fancy letter M in just 6 steps. It will be based on the capital letter but much more rounded. However, we will do more than show you how to draw this drawing. You will also have some ideas for coloring and decorating the drawing.

How to Draw A Fancy Letter M

Step 1

If you look at the last images of this guide, you'll see that we've turned this ordinary letter into a rather stylistic design. This could make the design difficult to maintain. For this reason, we strongly recommend using a penciled M to map the shape of the letter. In this case, try to make the shape of the letter more rounded than you would typically write it. This pencil letter also allows you to correctly anticipate and maintain the shape of the letter in your guide. When you're done, we can draw the first part of the drawing. We add many shapes and curl elements throughout the pattern to make it look fancier. You'll draw the first of these wavy shapes on the top left side of the design. To do this, draw two lines that curl and run parallel. They meet at a central pointed tip, as shown in the reference image. There will be a slight gap on the right side of the spiral, where it will be connected to the letter later. With this first spiral drawn, we can move on to step 2 and add more to this design.

Step 2

If you look at the regular letter M, you will see that it is divided into three sections. These would be the two sides and the sink in the middle. In this second step, we draw the left side of the letter. This section extends downwards and connects directly to the spiral of the first part. Draw a vertical line down from the base of this spiral, giving it a slight wave and curve. When you get to the base of the letter, it starts curving to the left. This will gradually transform into another spiral shape similar to the first. As you will see in the example, it points in the opposite direction. This spiral twists and curves to the right until it becomes another slightly wavy vertical line. The vertical line extends to the top of the letter. You will see a small gap at this point, but we will close it shortly!

Step 3

There's much to cover in step 3 of this excellent letter M, but we'll go through it slowly! This is a step where we recommend following our sample image as closely as possible while drawing. First, we'll start with a small, pointed shape at the top of the letter. This will fill in the gap left at the end of the previous step. At the base of this sharp point, we then draw a curved line pointing down. You can end this line just above the middle of the letter and create an indentation. The line slopes up and around to form the top of the right side of the letter. This then drops off abruptly, ending in a small sharp section at the base. Roll it backward and then up to form the right "leg" of the letter. Near the top, it falls back down to create the central slant of the letter. The sink has a flat base before bulging to fill the gap further. It may not sound straightforward, but it's easier than it sounds if you take it slow. It will also be easier if you pencil the letter first. The pencil lines are ready to be erased now that the outline is done.

Step 4

A lot was going on in the previous two steps, but in this step, you can slow down and relax as this step is not that complex. This step allows you to experiment and have fun with the design. In our example, you can see the pattern we chose for the letter. We used wavy lines all over the inside of the letter to give it a more detailed look. You can also fill the letter with other patterns or texture details. If you prefer a more solid look to the letter, you can omit the interior details and fill it with color later. With all these options, it cannot be easy to decide! If you're having difficulty committing to an idea, you can always create different versions of the design so you can experiment. When you're happy with the inside, the next step is to add some extra outside flourishes to prepare your drawing for some coloring fun!

Step 5

In this step, you can add minor details and finishing touches to the design. We give you a working basis by showing you the details we have chosen for our version. If you like how they look, you can copy them all exactly as they are for your design! Or you could use them as inspiration for your own detailed choices. It's up to you, but we're sticking to our current plans. First, we added some spiral lines to the letter, one from the top tip and one from the bottom right tip. Next, we added simple dots at the top edges of the letter. Finally, we tried to create a sense of movement and liveliness. This was accomplished by adding some lines around some of the outlines of the letter. These are all examples of simple touches that can help bring this design to life!

Step 6

You've worked hard on this awesome letter M, and now you can relax with some coloring fun to complete it. This is a step where you can show off your creativity! Our reference image shows you one of the thousands of colors you could use for the design. We chose a rich purple color to give the letter a soft feel. You could use a similar color scheme for your own, or you could make a unique color choice! There are other ways to get creative with this as well. For example, one way would be to color the letter as we did and then go over the detail lines with a colored pen. For example, you could use a complementary color like orange to contrast it. These are some ideas to try, but let your creativity run wild! Before we wrap up, we'll show you a few more ideas that you can try to make your drawing even more special.
